Mar Elias Educational Institutions enjoys an extensive international network of friends and supporters in the USA, UK, Canada, France, Austria, Australia, South Korea, Germany, Italy, Jordan, and Ireland. As known, many of the leading universities are embracing internationalization, offering programs in multiple languages, and encouraging student mobility through exchange programs. This trend necessitates a focus on language education that prepares students for academic success in a global context. We at MEEI strive to prepare our students for this future phase. International Education has become integral to MEEI programs as it offers our students numerous benefits. Through these programs, our students interact with their peers from diverse backgrounds, thus enhancing their communication skills in multicultural settings. This skill set is increasingly valuable in our interconnected world. In addition, international education fosters a sense of global citizenship, encouraging our students to think beyond domestic boundaries and act as responsible global citizens as they build personal connections and lifelong friendships.

Mar Elias marked a crucial period in my life, where the warm and inclusive atmosphere provided unique opportunities for my personal growth. Participating in the exchange program was a transformative experience that broadened my horizons and shaped my future. The exchange program at Mar Elias was more than just cultural exploration. It took place at the beginning of August 2017, and it was an unforgettable shared journey with participants living in the same building. We traveled around Munich and to other places such as the Olympics arena, museums, and car shows. This immersive experience exposed me to diverse cultures, perspectives, and lasting friendships transcending borders. A significant impact of the exchange program was the enhancement of my English language skills. Immersed in an English-speaking environment, everyday interactions with international peers significantly boosted my language proficiency. The improved language proficiency, adaptability, and cultural openness I cultivated during the exchange became crucial assets as I moved to Canada for further studies. In retrospect, Mar Elias High School was not just a place of learning but a launchpad for personal and academic growth.
My name is Bader Abu-Hajool and I graduated from Mar Elias High school in 2017. Last summer marked a meaningful occasion in my life as I embarked on a journey to reunite with friends in the enchanting landscapes of Canada. These friendships, born during our exchange program at Westgate School in Winnipeg, Manitoba, back in 2016, will last a lifetime. I am deeply grateful to Mar Elias High School for organizing this trip and especially to Dr. Emil Halloun, who worked together with Mr. James Friesen. The culmination of our enduring bond led me to Toronto, where I spent an unforgettable week with my dear friends. I stayed in Winnipeg for one week, where the nostalgia deepened. I remembered with much affection the trip I took part in. Reconnecting with my host family from 2016 was a heartwarming experience, and we embarked on road trips across the picturesque Manitoba province. This second is undoubtedly the reaffirmation of lasting friendships spanning time and geography.
My name is Shosh Ben-David, and I have been teaching at MEEI for YEARS. I accompanied a group from Mar Elias High School in 2022 when we visited Offenburg, Germany, as part of an ongoing exchange program between our school and a prestigious Catholic High School in Offenburg. I truly enjoyed seeing our students' growth and learning through this program. I encourage all students to participate in these enriching programs in the future.
